Khawaja Ghareeb Nawaz Moinuddin Chishti was born in the Iranian province of Sistan in 1141 AD. He was a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and was raised in a deeply spiritual family. From a young age, he showed a deep interest in spirituality and religion, and as a teenager. He decided to set out on a journey to seek knowledge and spiritual enlightenment.
